The Norfolk & Suffolk League was formed following a reorganisation of the sport's regions. It was essentially the East Anglian League renamed to reflect eligibility.
Somersham surprised themselves by jumping to the top of the table in the early stages with good wins at Gt Blakenham and versus Kesgrave. It was a terrible start for last year's winners Kesgrave though, who had earlier lost at home to Eaton in the biggest league defeat of the year.
But Somersham then began to falter, losing at Spixworth with an under-strength side. Meanwhile Eaton were racking up the wins to head to top of the table and Kesgrave gradually got there act together with wins at Hethersett and Spixworth.
Eaton finally secured the league when they beat Spixworth and completed an unbeaten campaign with the home win over Somersham.
Gt Blakenham continually struggled to get their best side together on the same day but eventually managed it in the last match of the season and promptly won at Somersham. That gave Kesgrave second in the table as they had beaten Somersham on aggregate.
Spixworth looked a bit weak on paper so should be happy with their mid-table position. And they had some very close battles.
Hethersett were much more competitive than their bottom of the table position suggests, and it was no reflection of their effort.
